Meet Colleen Johnson

Instructional Designer • Multimedia Storyteller • Educator • Content Creator

Technology, storytelling, and education have always been at the center of Colleen Johnson’s work. Whether she’s designing engaging learning experiences, producing multimedia content, mentoring creators, or helping educators integrate technology into their classrooms, her passion has always been the same: empowering people to communicate, create, and connect in meaningful ways.

Colleen brings a unique perspective shaped by creativity, resilience, innovation, and community. Her journey has taken her from corporate technology environments to classrooms, television production studios, and digital learning spaces — all connected by a deep belief that storytelling and technology can transform lives.

A Passion for Learning, Creativity, and Mentorship

Colleen holds a Master of Education in Instructional Technology with an Online Teaching Endorsement from Kennesaw State University. Over the years, she has blended her background in technology, multimedia production, journalism, and education to create dynamic learning experiences that inspire creativity, confidence, and critical thinking.

What makes Colleen’s approach unique is her belief that learning should never feel passive. She believes people learn best when they are actively creating, collaborating, experimenting, and sharing their voices.

Building Award-Winning Student Media Programs

As the media program lead and broadcasting educator at JC Booth Middle School, Colleen developed hands-on multimedia programs that allowed students to experience real-world storytelling through:

Under her leadership, students have earned recognition from the Georgia Scholastic Press Association and national student media competitions for excellence in broadcasting, photography, journalism, and yearbook production.

One of Colleen’s greatest joys as an educator is watching students discover talents they never realized they possessed — whether stepping behind a camera for the first time, producing a broadcast segment, designing a publication layout, or finding confidence through creative expression.

She believes creativity can open doors, build confidence, and help learners see new possibilities for themselves and their future.

From Corporate Technology to Education

Before entering education, Colleen worked in corporate technology environments with companies such as NaviSite, supporting enterprise-level systems and government clients.

Her roles included:

Technical writing
Quality assurance engineering
Team training and support
Documentation development
Software testing
Technical support leadership

This experience gave her a strong foundation in communication, instructional development, leadership, and problem-solving — skills that continue to shape her work today.

What Colleen discovered during those years was that she loved helping people understand complex ideas. Whether training support teams, developing documentation, or guiding users through technical systems, she found fulfillment in making technology more approachable and empowering others through knowledge.

Multimedia Storytelling & Live Production

Colleen has spent years working in multimedia production and live broadcasting, combining creativity, technical expertise, and storytelling to create engaging media experiences.

She served for nearly a decade as a media administrator and live production specialist for Breath of Life TV Ministries in Atlanta, Georgia. Her work included:

Live broadcast production
Streaming coordination
Camera operation
Lighting design
Technical direction
Graphics creation
Production management

In addition to her production work, Colleen currently produces a 30-minute television segment titled “The Bridge” for Atlanta Berean Seventh-day Adventist Church. Through this program, she combines storytelling, media production, and creative communication to produce meaningful, community-centered content that informs, inspires, and connects viewers.

Her experience in live broadcasting has strengthened her ability to lead creative teams, mentor emerging media talent, manage production workflows, and deliver high-quality storytelling experiences under pressure.
